The Chester County Historic Preservation Network (CCHPN) is an affiliation of local organizations and individuals dedicated to promoting, protecting, and preserving Chester County's historic resources and landscapes through education, facilitation, and public and private advocacy. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, all donations are tax-deductible.

  October 16, 2008
  Historic Bridges of Chester County - Fall 2008 Meeting, Downingtown Municipal Building, 6pm-9pm
  With a renewed concern for upgrading bridge safety and capacity, the
hundreds of historic bridges in Chester County are being examined, and
many will be heavily modified or replaced.

Come on out and join us for an evening program with Jeff Amerine, a local
transportation consultant, who will lead a presentation on the history of
Chester County bridges and provide tips on how to work with PennDOT to
ensure that your bridge is protected or is sensitively adapted to meet
modern needs.

Out host for the night, the Downingtown Borough Parks and Historical
Commission, will start the event with tours of its historic bridge over
the Brandywine Creek, plus the nearby Log House and the Paper Mill
redevelopment project.

6:00 to 7:00pm  Tour of local historic features
7:00 to 7:30pm  Refreshments
7:30 to 9:00pm  "Historic Bridges of Chester County"

  East Vincent Historical Society presents a Historic Preservation Open House and Art Exhibit at the Ridge Fire Company, Rt. 23, Spring City, PA
  All are invited to attend an open house presenting historical and natural
treasures, showcasing art and photography showcasing the heritage of East
Vincent Township!

Special guest speakers from the East Vincent Historical Commission,
Preservation Pennsylvania, and Preserve Pennhurst will discuss historic
preservation both locally and nationally.  The presentation starts at
7:30pm.  Light refreshments will be provided.

  4th Annual Historic House Tour, Tredyffrin Preservation Trust
  The 4th Annual Historic House Tour is organized to present not only
architectural styles, interior design and renovation techniques, but also
a ‘Window on life in the House’ in the 18th, 19th, 20th & 21st centuries.
This year’s Tour will feature eight of our community’s historic homes.

  Paoli Battlefield's Afternoon With The Generals at Gen. Warren Inne
  Join in this afternoon spent with General George Washington and British
General William Howe, as portrayed by the American Historical Theatre at
the famous General Warren Inne in Malvern.  Light fare, cash bar and
Musick of Early America by Robert Moulard.  Event will support projects
such as archeological survey of the Revolutionary War site of the Paoli
Massacre, educational and commemorative activities.  General Admission
tickets are $75 per person for 2 PM or $100 to join VIP reception with the
Generals starting a 1 PM.  Businesses - show your support of Chester

  Paoli Battlefield Illumination - Candlelight Tour
  Learn about the Paoli Massacre from costumed, first-person interpreters
telling the tales of this horrific night that spawned our nation's first
battlecry "Remember Paoli".  Follow the path of 300 luminaries
representing the casualties of this Revolutionary War battle fought by
General Anthony Wayne's Pennsylvania Line.  Flashlight & comfortable
walking shoes recommened.  $5 donation per family.  Guided tours from 7 to
9 PM.  The Paoli Battlefield is located on Monument Avenue in Malvern, PA.
